Donna
Satchell is a Professional Speaker, Trainer, Author, and President
of STARR Consulting & Training, an organization dedicated to
motivating, training, and helping individuals and businesses achieve
success. Donna's trademark, Just Get Serious™, is her business
and life philosophy. She is serious
about creating programs and speeches that are engaging, interactive,
and get results.
Donna
is equally serious about developing herself into the best possible
person she can be.
Prior to starting
her business, Donna worked at Clairol/Bristol-Myers where she
achieved several remarkable accomplishments including: 1) She
graduated from college with top honors after attending while working
as an administrative assistant; 2) She was the first administrative
assistant promoted into a management-level marketing position at
Clairol; 3) She received numerous individual and team awards and was
recognized as one of the company’s experts on field-based
analysis and category management.
After Donna left
Clairol in 2002, she began to pursue her dream of helping businesses
develop their employees and helping individuals become more
successful. A partial list of her corporate and governmental
clients include: The City of Atlanta, The Coca-Cola Company, Cox
Enterprises, The Department of Labor, U.S. Small Business
Administration, G.E. Consumer Finance and Centers for Disease
Control (CDC).
Donna is one of the
favorite speakers for several women’s organizations. That is
because she understands the challenges many women face having
encountered them herself. She has worked for the following women
and women-dominant organizations and events: American Business
Women’s Association, International Association of Administrative
Professionals, Dress for Success and Clemson University’s Conference
for Women, SCORE Conference For Women and Coca Cola’s Women
Leadership Conference.
To help individuals
gain further knowledge and stay motivated beyond her training programs and
speeches, Donna co-authored several books with other training
experts like herself. The 303 Solutions series includes
“quick read” books on time management, goal achievement,
communication, and other topics. Also, along with Les Brown and
Wally “Famous” Amos, Donna is one of nine authors featured in The

Donna’s passion for helping others,
lead her and a colleague, Lynda Shorter, to form Women Aspiring Together To Succeed. This group brings
women together to grow in their awareness, understanding, and
practice of the many self-care, self-empowerment and
self-achievement concepts expressed today by various authors.
Several members have credited the group with helping them make major
changes in their lives. Founded in 2000, the group continues to meet
to motivate and empower women.
In 2007 Donna participated in the Best Motivational
Speaker category
for the Twinkie Awards, honoring
excellence in business practices for savvy sales and marketing.
For the first time, there was a tie for the title with the judges
unable to decide between Donna and the other contender.
Although she did not receive first place in the run-off contest, her
speech received lots of enthusiastic praise, including the Awards’
founder, Letitia Owens remarking

Donna is a member
of the American Society for Training & Development and is on the
Advisory Committee for DeKalb Technical College. She is also a
member of the National Speakers Association and is the past
recipient of the Georgia Chapter’s Spirit Award for outstanding
contribution and commitment.
